All this Olympic talk makes me excited! From their being Olympic coaches outside my door (I still don't know what they were doing) to hearing about the students who information I've been working with.
Today I overheard a conversation Glada's had with Flippen. He seems to be the go to guy on this subject. I'll have to look up exactly what he does later because it seems like each person in the office has a specialty. Glada is the go to person about how to use any program and how to handle Jack (the apparently lively swimming coach who was chosen to assist in the Olympics). And from what I've seen Rhonda handles the students most. She may be the face that they know.
But in the conversation I heard Glada asking what to do about a student was indeed going to the Olympics, and it was more than "Should they start in the Fall or Spring." One coach wanted to give an athlete money to buy a plane ticket back from Rio once their events were over. The student was already a full scholarship athlete so they couldn't just add more money there. Plus they wouldn't get their refund check on time. Since they can't just wire the student money they came up with a way for them to legally get it to them in time.
The type of things that they have to do never cease to amaze me...
